Charlize Theron dona un millón de verdes contra violencia de género

La actriz y modelo de 44 años Charlize Theron, donó 1 millón de dólares a través de su fundación The Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project, la cual anunció que la mitad del dinero ira destinado para la lucha contra el Covid-19 y la otra parte, contra la violencia de genero.

500.000 dólares irían a refugios de violencia doméstica y programas comunitarios que luchan contra la violencia de género, bajo la iniciativa Together for Her. Aseguró la famosa en una publicación en las redes sociales.

«A medida que la propagación global de Covid-19 ha obligado a las personas a entrar, la vida se ha vuelto aún más peligrosa para las mujeres que sufren violencia doméstica, especialmente para aquellas que están más marginadas y tienen un mayor riesgo de sufrir violencia».

La actriz ganadora del Oscar apoyará los esfuerzos en los Estados Unidos y en Sudáfrica, según un comunicado de la fundación. Se designarán fondos adicionales tanto a nivel nacional, como internacional a través de dos organizaciones asociadas, CARE y la Entertainment Industry Foundation.
